10/01/14: Sevilla star Ivan Rakitic has revealed that he is content to stay in Spain for the time being. Rakitic has been in sensational form in La Liga this term, scoring eight goals in 16 league appearances and adding a further six assists to make him statistically the third-ranked player in Spain behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But it seems the 25-year-old has made up his mind and is keen to carry on at the club, where he is taking the role of captain seriously. He said: “For the time being, I only think about Sevilla. I have important matches ahead of me and additional responsibilities as captain of the team, so leaving is not something I'm considering now.”
10/01/14: A Bola believes Ezequiel Garay is set to join United in the summer after being linked in the Portuguese press with a move to Old Trafford for some time. The 27-year-old Benfica centre-back is being valued in the £8million class.
09/01/14: The Daily Express claims United have made a £20m offer for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio. The Serie A club were knocked out of the Champions League in December and reports suggest Marchisio might be sacrificed to help offset the resulting financial shortfall. The Italian is reportedly surplus to requirements at Juve with Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal ahead of him, but is on record as saying he wants to stay at the club where he has spent his entire career after coming through the youth ranks.
